- Kilifi Gold Triathlon
Every year, Kilifi Gold Triathlon takes place as a fundraising event aimed at supporting communities in need. The event is a competition including swimming, running, and cycling. KGT is now the most popular triathlon event in East Africa, with millions raised over the years committed to important causes in Kilifi. This year, the event will happen on 23rd September. According to the triathlon website, participation is limited to 250 people, with last year’s tickets selling out within 24 hours. Look out for the 2023 edition of the Kilifi Gold Triathlon and check their website to register.
- Kisima Festival
Every year, the Kisima Wellness Festival hosted at Beneath the Baobabs site aims to ensure that people are more connected to themselves and their wellbeing. The festival enables people to relax, recharge, and reconnect with their wellness. There are many fun activities including workshops, Yoga, meditation, and music. You can enjoy your visit to Kilifi with a piece of this amazing experience. - Sports at Salty’s Beach
In Kilifi, sport is a major part of the community meaning people come together to enjoy themselves and work out at the same time. Salty’s Beach is one of the most renowned venues for beach sports including volleyball, rugby and other water sports. Every weekend there are activities on the beach with professional trainers and thrill seekers coming together to enjoy time and exercise the physical fitness. You can be part of this event by either visiting them or supporting them through donations and other methods that you can come in. Gyms from within the area and recreational spaces also support their members to attend these sports events.
- Rotary Club of Kilifi
At the heart of service to community in Kilifi is the rotary Club of Kilifi which is committed to service above self and solving some of the existing social and economic challenges within the community. With a membership of about 30 the club meets every weekend works on social and community project through fundraising and other sources of financing. Membership to the rotary Club of Kilifi is voluntary with members paying a membership fee and participating in day-to-day running of the club. If you are committed to community service, you can join this club and participate in activities such as mangrove planting, dressing and feeding homeless and sheltered children, provision of water for cleaning and drinking in schools, beach clean-ups and other sanitation projects, among many other projects.
